Director of Sales – Amazon

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position will be responsible for driving revenue and profit growth by managing and optimizing our presence on primarily Amazon US, as well as other e-com sites. Working with the team to increase product visibility, driving traffic, and converting glance views into sales. This role requires a deep understanding of Amazon’s marketplace from a 1P perspective, strong analytical skills, and the ability to robustly communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Collaborating internally and with our Amazon business partners to drive profitable growth is a key component to the E-Commerce Sales Director role. Additionally implementing best practices and implementing specific strategies for our other key retail partners (IE WM.com & Marketplace, Target.com, TikTok, etc.).

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Manage and optimize our Amazon vendor central account to maximize revenue and profitability growth.
• Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, competition, and opportunities for product positioning and the expertise to build relevancy of product on Amazon’s platform.
• Develop and execute effective strategies to increase product visibility, drive traffic, and improve conversion rates.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, traffic, conversion rates, net PPM (Pure Profit Margin) and customer reviews to identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, operations, finance and customer service, to ensure alignment and maximize sales potential.
• Stay up to date with Amazon’s policies, guidelines, and best practices to ensure compliance and leverage new features and tools which drive productivity, and profit for both Amazon and Basic Fun!
• Optimize product listings, including titles, descriptions, bullet points, images, and keywords, to improve search rankings and drive consumer behavior to maximize sales and secure the buy box
• Manage inventory levels and fulfillment processes to ensure timely and accurate order processing and delivery.
• Monitor and respond to customer reviews and inquiries in a timely and professional manner to maintain customer satisfaction and drive five-star consumer feedback.
• Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for new product launches and expansion into new categories.
• Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to proactively adjust strategies and tactics.
• Provide regular reports and updates on sales performance, market trends, and competitive analysis, and promotional results to our management team
• Work to analyze and implement a supplemental 3P business for brands and items not part of the 1P program.
• Develop similar best practices for non- Amazon e-comm platforms (i.e., WM.com/marketplace, Target.com, TikTok, etc.) implementing best in class for all our e-com partners.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Skills, knowledge, and abilities:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.

Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
• 7+ year’s experience in managing and optimizing Amazon seller accounts to drive sales growth.
• Strong understanding of Amazon’s marketplace, algorithms, and best practices.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams to include Amazon corporate.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Self-motivated and results-driven with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for data analysis and reporting. Familiarity with Amazon advertising tools and strategies, such as Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands, to drive targeted traffic and increase sales.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and how to optimize product listings for search rankings.
• Experience with inventory management and fulfillment processes on Amazon.
• Ability to adapt to changes in Amazon’s policies, guidelines, and algorithms.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome challenges and drive sales growth.
• Knowledge of competitor analysis and market research techniques.
• Familiarity with customer service best practices and the ability to provide exceptional customer support.
• Experience with data analysis tools and software, such as Google Analytics or Amazon Vendor Central analytics.
• Knowledge of all Amazon operations regarding both 1P and 3P. Experience developing strategic plans for managing larger portfolios with focus on managing consumer demand.
• Familiarity with AVS and knowledge how to best utilize, elevate, manage and analyze the service to ensure ROI.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative, while also being a team player.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and deliver agreed upon results.
• Knowledge of e-commerce and online retail trends.
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
• Strong skills & knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Access, AI Tools, etc.
• Full-time on-site position located at our company’s headquarter offices in Boca Raton, Florida.

We believe strongly in the philosophy that we are Better Together and that the collaboration and teamwork of being with each other in the office supports our culture the best.  For this reason, we work in the office Monday through Thursday.  We have chosen Friday as our optional remote workday as we believe it to be the day that is most beneficial and effective for Basic Fun! and our employees.
